About The Queen Hotel:
This large residential hotel was originally built in 1840 to serve the adjacent railway station and formerly linked to the station platform via a footbridge.
It was badly damaged by fire in 1997, but was restored to its sumptuous glory, with a stone façade and interior boasting moulded ceilings and oak panelled walls.
For the 2021 reopening, it has been given a refresh with a brighter feel to the restaurant area and greater use of sofas in the lounge area.
