The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago.
Set in the delightful rural setting of the New Forest, the pub overlooks a stream and during the summer months wild ponies, pigs, cows and donkeys can be seen taking shade on the forecourt of the inn.
In this tranquil haven you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re miles from anywhere but we’re just 2 minutes from the A31 and 5 minutes from the M27, making us easily accessed from Bournemouth in the west or Southampton in the east.
To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our beautiful garden, which, complete with a large heated canopy, is a wonderful place to have drinks or dine al fresco whatever the weather.
We also have a children’s play area. We’re proud to be a dog friendly and inclusive pub for everyone and when you step inside you’ll be captivated by the pub’s charm and our friendly team.
We’re the perfect spot for a family celebration, the best Sunday roast or a rewarding pint after a forest walk.
We often have events on, including live music and pub quizzes, and welcome locals and visitors alike.
