About The Whalebone:

If you're looking for a relaxed ambience, superb food, fantastic value and a place you'll return to again and again, The Whalebone fits the bill.

Although this is a Grade 2 listed building it has been sympathetically restored making the most of the exposed beams, whilst the stripped wooden floors and bespoke furniture successfully combine a rustic charm with contemporary style!

If you're looking for somewhere to indulge your palette, you're certain to find something to delight you on the menu. It takes a really talented chef to serve up the fabulous menus on offer – and The Whalebone has two! There's also a great wine list to complement your choice.

In the winter there's a real wood burning fire making the bar snug and warm and in the summer there's a fantastic garden out at the back, with a fishing pond and rolling lawns down to the Roman River.

It's the perfect place for events, whether a band is playing, a theme night, a wedding, anniversary or even a corporate launch. The barn provides not only a private room, but also a private garden area.

Set in a picturesque village with beautiful surrounding countryside, and stunning views it's no surprise that The Whalebone is a popular place to visit. There's a diverse collection of customers from commuters stopping in for a drink on the way home to ramblers who have it on their list of ‘must stop' places en route and people visiting the local attractions dropping in for refreshment on their way to or from a day out.
