The Wheel Inn has history traceable to 1770 on this location where it began life as a blacksmith's workshop.
A century later in 1871 this was converted into a public house - still greeting weary travellers but for different reasons.
The pub continued to trade prosperously into the following century before gradually falling into a slow decline in the early years of the 21st Century.
Eventually with the décor and fittings requiring refurbishment the pub was taken over by the local community who rallied to save the pub and restore it somewhat to it's former splendour.
This project took over in early 2018 and was making excellent progress whilst working purely voluntarily to keep their local facility.
