The King Alfred is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet only a 10 minute walk from the high street and the iconic Winchester Cathedral.
Cosy corners, freshly cooked classic pub food, real ales and an interesting wine list all served by our friendly team who love being here as much as you will, and we are dog friendly both inside and outside of our pub.
Upstairs we have five characterful letting bedrooms, each stylishly decorated in keeping with the traditional, eclectic style downstairs.
(unfortunately no pets overnight)
Our play area is now re-opened, with brand new equipment suitable for ages up to 8 years old.
The play area will be closed no later than 8pm every evening due to health and safety and noise regulations
