Kent's Oldest Pub
From the 14th Century to the present day
The Inn was built in 1348 and it's the oldest pub in Kent.
With over 650 years of history to boast if the walls could talk there would be many stories to tell.
Queen Anne and the Archbishop of Canterbury are reputed to have stayed, and even pub frequenting Dick Turpin evaded capture from the law by hiding out here .
The building was also used as a hospital to treat wounded soldiers during the civil war and unsurprisingly two Ghosts live here, though they prefer to remain in the background.
The interior is heavily beamed and boasts a large inglenook fireplace providing a cozy environment in the winter.
The large beer garden offers the perfect setting for a summer afternoon, whether enjoying a beer or a bite to eat.
Peaceful and tranquil The Old Yew Inn at Westbere is a must visit pub for tourists and locals alike.
