The Famous Ship Inn has been around for over 220 years old having been established in 1798 at the time of the Napoleonic Wars.
The building itself is one of the grade II listed landmarks in Sandgate and is the only hospitality venue with both a presence on the High Street and a presence on the Beach for miles in either direction!
As both a children and dog friendly pub, we can say we truly cater for all varieties of friends and families!
We offer a unique combination of ‘traditional pub’ feel and modern seafood orientated restaurant located right in the middle of Sandgate and on the seafront right on the English Coastal Path.
Our mission is to serve both high-quality food; from seasonal local Kent producers; prepared by our very dedicated and talented kitchen crew; and a range of the finest quality real ales, keg beers, spirits and wines.
In addition, with our indoor event room – where bands and DJs perform regularly – and our summer outdoor terrace, we can offer the ideal location for private parties, weddings etc.
Our Gastro Galley brand offers an alternative to dining-in with us and allows our customers the ease of ordering online and getting our food and drink delivered direct to their door, to a location on the beach or for takeaway collection.
