The Red Well Country Inn has a long history.
The building dates from the seventeenth century and gets its name from a well situated at the back of the property.
Local lore has it that the water in the well suddenly turned red, at the time witchcraft was blamed.
Today the water is clear!
This established inn, a favourite for local and travellers from afar, is situated in the beautiful countryside on the north of the Lune Valley between Carnforth and Kirkby Lonsdale.
