About The Bay Horse Inn:

Welcome to The Bay Horse Inn
We are a rustic village pub serving a lively community.

Pop in for a great welcome, great beer and some decent, honest food!

The Bay Horse is renowned for its excellent food & drink - beers including Theakstones, brewed nearby in Masham to an old and trusted Yorkshire recipe.

A wide range of home cooked food is available at lunchtimes and evenings, with all the produce being purchased locally and cooked to excellent standards.

Over the years the Inn has been extended and altered to its present-day size. It features a Cosy, well-appointed bar with beamed ceilings and open log fire, and has a stunning, unspoiled view of the village green and cricket square.

It dates back to the early 17th Century when it was a blacksmiths shop with stabling and sold ale! It is alleged that the trial of the 'Akebar murderer' (the murder stone stands at the roadside at Akebar) was held in the upstairs billiard room, the murderer being found guilty and later hanged in York.
