About The Old House:
The Old House at Home is a timber framed building with some parts that may date back as far as the 14th century. The census of 1851 records four cottages all occupied by a Mr. Francis Turner and his wife. Turner was a seller of beer and a carpenter whom by 1855 had 'Turnered' the properties into an inn, giving the pub its name, and offering accommodation in two rooms with stabling for 3 horses.
