The Red Kite is to be found on the innovative Calder Park. With over 100 acres for wildlife, swans, ducks and other wildfowl are regular visitors.

Wakefield is known as the capital of the Rhubarb Triangle, an area famous for its early forced rhubarb. In July 2005 a statue was erected near to the pub to celebrate this unusual claim to fame.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal spring dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.
